Akhilesh promises to withdraw false cases lodged against Brahmans New Delhi: With an eye on Lok Sabha elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday promised that all false cases against Brahmans lodged under the SC/ST Act (Prevention of Atrocities Act) will be withdrawn.

"There was a time when false cases were imposed on Brahmins. When we came to power, we removed all such cases. And, we assure that any such case filed against Brahmins will be removed by our government," Yadav said.

Akhilesh was addressing the celebrations organised by the SP to mark Parashuram Jayanti.
