New Delhi: Key UPA ally and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has struck a note of caution on the Congress's win in Karnataka. Pawar said a single win can't predict the trend for the general elections. Speaking at a rally in Satara, the NCP chief said that the polls in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan will pose a bigger challenge.
"Don't jump to any conclusions because of the win in Karnataka. The forthcoming elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh are more important and pose a bigger challenge to the UPA. One can't predict which way the wind will blow with just one electoral victory," warned Pawar.
Battered by a series of scams at the national stage, the Congress put up an impressive show in the Karnataka Assembly Elections crossing the half-way mark of 113 seats in a House of 224, and going on to win a clear majority of 121 seats, obviating the need for crutches and belying predictions.
