Since then, the comic book series has been adapted on screen several times. The first on screen version of Superman came in the form of a TV series. Kirk Alyn was the first actor to play the iconic superhero on screen in 1948.Alyn started out as a chorus boy on Broadway, appearing in notable musicals in the 1930s till he got his big break in the 'Superman' series.
