
Gonda: In a major development in the Gonda CMO 'abduction' case, Chief Medical Officer SP Singh was on Saturday transferred. SP Singh, who was untraceable since Monday night after being allegedly abducted by Minister of State for Revenue Vinod Kumar Singh, joined back work on Saturday. The District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Gonda were also transferred on Saturday along with the CMO.
Speaking to CNN-IBN on Saturday, SP Singh said that he had not taken a call on filing an FIR against the Samajwadi Party leader yet. The Gonda CMO had earlier claimed that Vinod Kumar Singh was pushing him in a case of doctors' appointments. The CMO, who remained untraceable since Monday, made a dramatic appearance at his office on Friday evening.
The CMO was allegedly abducted by Vinod Kumar Singh on Monday night and initially even his family members claimed that he could not be contacted as his mobile phones were swtiched off. Home department officials had in Lucknow on Friday said that efforts were on to contact the CMO for his statement on reports regarding his alleged abduction by a state minister. "We have not been able to contact him till now and as per the reports received from Gonda he is on leave since Tuesday," Secretary (Home) Kamal Saxena had said.
While the state government ordered an inquiry into the incident, Vinod Kumar Singh sent his resignation to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday and alleged a conspiracy on the part
