Wanted to play out Sunil Narine: Dwayne Smith Mumbai Indians' opener Dwayne Smith, who lead his team to victory against Kolkata with a match winning knock of 62 in 47 balls at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday said that he wanted to play out Sunil Narine as he was in a wicket-taking form and wanted to get himself in and pick up the pace after judging the nature of the track.

Chasing a tricky 160 to win on a slow and low Kolkata track, Smith got Mumbai to a solid start despite losing his partner, birthday boy Sachin Tendulkar for just two runs. "I am very happy. I just wanted to get myself in and pick up the pace after judging the nature of the track. Narine is their most important bowler and we wanted to just play him out", said Smith during the post-match presentation.

Smith used the cross batted heaves to utmost effect milking 31 runs off leg-spinner Iqbal Abdulla's 19 balls and taking Sachitra Senanayake to the cleaners. Sunil Narine was the only bowler who troubled the Mumbai batsmen picking up three wickets with a miserly economy of 4.25. Narine also accounted for Smith to peg back the visitors when it looked like the batmsan was taking the game away from the hosts.

"I did not target any bowler. My plan was to get as much as possible from any bowler bowling to me, apart from Sunil Narine, because he was the one who was taking the wickets for them.
