Darbhanga: Students from Belgium are in Bihar on a special mission - to build a tuberculosis research centre in Darbhanga. They have not only donated a whopping sum of Rs 2 crore for the project, but are also working as labourers.
This group of bright young students from Belgium are in Bihar to construct a building, within the premises of government hospital in Bihar's Darbhanga district. "We have come from Belgium ourself and our main purpose is to build a laboratory where they will do researches on TB so we can help people suffering from TB," said a student Elizabeth.
They are perfectly at ease there, carrying brick and sacks of sand on their heads and painting doors and windows, all by themselves. For the patients and local hospital authorities, they are no less than god sent angels, who have not only arranged funds for their new building but also building it themselves, a project, which was stuck in government's files for over a decade, for want of money.
Borrowing money from friends, family and relatives back home in Belgium, these kids are building a tuberculosis research centre. Dr KK Mishra, district TB officer, says, "They have come from Belgium, they want to know whether my fund is utilised and on a very good purpose.They have come to help and construct the building."...
