TN: One day old baby stolen from govt hospital

Madurai: A one day old male baby was kidnapped today from the maternity ward of Government Rajaji hospital here by a woman, but police said they would soon nab her as her image had been captured on Closed Circuit TV camera.

Police said the installation of CCTV at the ward had helped them identify the woman stealing the baby from the cradle. A case had been registered and copies of the recordings taken.

Meanwhile hospital officials said a laptop with details of imparting coaching to students had also been stolen. It was to be used on Saturday for a programme to create awareness on the problems of new born children today.

However CCTV recordings of the culprit was not available immediately, they said....more
