Mumbai: Teenager mows down 3-year-old, arrested Goregaon: A 3-year-old girl was run over and killed in Goregaon by a car allegedly being driven by a teenager. The incident took place on Monday night at suburban Goregaon near Hypercity mall. The minor, identified as Lado Gupta, was run over allegedly by the vehicle of Raunak Desai.

19-year-old Raunak, son of former Mumbai corporator Sameer Desai and a relative of Congress leader Gurudas Kamat, was allegedly behind the wheel of the car involved. The 3-year-old girl was rammed while she was crossing the road and died on the spot. Police have arrested Raunak and registered an FIR.

"We were standing in front of the shops and when we were crossing the road, the car hit her and she died on the spot. We didn't recognize the driver but at the time of the incident the teenager said that he is (Former Corporator) Sameer Desai's son and Sameer Desai also confirmed it," said Umesh Gupta, uncle of the girl.

Police said that they are investigating the matter and we will confirm whether it is a drunk driving or rash driving charge. "Right now we have arrested him and sent him for a medical checkup.
