Facebook Post Arrest

FB post arrests: Case against AI trade union member New Delhi: Two Air India employees, who were arrested earlier this year for allegedly posting messages criticising Supreme Court orders on Facebook, have now registered a complaint against a trade union member of the airline. Cabin crew members Mayank Sharma and KVJ Rao accused Sagar Karnik of misleading the police and maligning their reputation.

Karnik had registered a case against the duo for posting derogatory comments and images on the social networking site. Sources say that Karnik's case could be rooted in an earlier and separate dispute.

Rao and Sharma were arrested in May this year for allegedly posting derogatory remarks against the Supreme Court in a closed online group for Air India employees. They alleged that the IT act was misused in their case.

But Karnik insisted that he was justified in seeking police action. "I first approached the websites and reported abuse and sought for removal of the posts, but the websites said I will have to approach the local police for the same," he said....more
