Interpersonal communication lacking in education: Joshi Greater Noida: One of the most important aspects lacking in the education system is interpersonal communication, CBSE Chairman Vineet Joshi said on Tuesday. This aspect was important as an individual has to connect with everyone -- children, parents, peers or colleagues-- around them, he said. Interpersonal communication means a deeper understanding of the problems faced by a child or teacher and the ability to address the same within the school system, he said at the inaugural session of the five-day training for principals of CBSE schools being held at Birla Institute of Management Technology in Greater Noida.

The 'CBSE Effective School Management & Leadership Program' is being jointly organised by Expressions India and BIMTECH under the aegis of CBSE. It is one of the first leadership programmes for CBSE schools principals in Northern India. Joshi also spoke of the reasons why reforms had been implemented in the CBSE system over the last few years. "Though significant generational changes had taken place in the mode of learning of children, the methodologies adopted in schools did not reflect the global changes taking place in the teaching-learning process," he said.
