
New Delhi: The Indian Premier League authorities have contacted all nine of its franchises and instructed them to speak to their players and reinforce the Code of Conduct, IPL sources told CNN-IBN on Saturday.
The franchises have been asked to remind all the players that they have to abide by the Code of Conduct to prevent any unwanted incident from happening. The directive has come after three Rajasthan Royals' players - Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan - were arrested by Delhi Police on Thursday with evidence of spot-fixing against them.
BCCI has already suspended the three players and cricketer-turned bookie Amit Singh, who has also been arrested in the case, pending inquiry. The players are currently being questioned by the Special Cell of Delhi Police, which is also conducting further raids and hasn't ruled out more arrests in the case.
BCCI has called an emergency meeting of its Disciplinary Committee on Sunday. Sources have told CNN-IBN that the players face a life ban and criminal charges if proven guilty....
