Seoul: Indian golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar will be making his 100th start on the Asian Tour when he tees off at the Ballantine's Championship, starting here Thursday. One of the growing stars of Asian golf, the 24-year-old has come a long way from the time he had made his debut on the Tour in 2007.
Six years on, the four time Asian Tour winner is now getting ready for the Euro 2,205,000 (Approximately USD 2.8 million) Ballantine's Championship at the Blackstone Golf Club. Bhullar registered two wins last year, in Taipei and Macau, to end the year with a fifth-place finish on the Asian Tour Order of Merit, which is also his career-best.
"It has been a great achievement for the Asian Tour and for me. I've really grown up as a player on this Tour and I really respect the Asian Tour," said Bhullar, who is currently second on the Order of Merit. "This is the Tour where I started playing golf and it really feels good to be playing in my 100th event this week," he added.
Bhullar is one of the nine Indians, who will tee up this week. Leading the Indian contingent is the most well-known Indian golfer, Jeev Milkha Singh. Besides Bhullar and Jeev, the field also includes SSP Chowrasia, Shiv Kapur, Jyoti Randhawa, Anirban Lahiri, Himmat Rai, Digvijay Singh and C Muniyappa....
