Ponty-Hardeep murders: Is black money the reason?

New Delhi: Sacked Uttarakhand Minorities Commission chief Sukhdev Singh Namdhari's son Surinder and his maternal uncle Hardayal are still untraceable even as police sources claim that the duo holds several clues to the unravelling of the sensational double murder case of liquor baron Ponty Chadha and his brother Hardeep Singh.

Sources have told IBN7 that Namdhari is the mastermind of the murders of Ponty and Hardeep. They say that Namdhari created the circumstances which led to the fight between Ponty and Hardeep. Police sources say that Namdhari had called up his brother, son and his three dozen men to Delhi under a conspiracy.

Police sources add that the case seems to be connected to a huge sum of black money and the conspiracy was hatched in February 2012. Ponty had allegedly kept all his black money in Namdhari's house when he heard about the income tax raids in February. The total amount ran into several crores, sources said.

Ponty had reportedly purchased land in India and even outside the country in Namdhari's name, which included 50 acres in Rudrapur's Sabji Mandi in Uttarakhand. Investigators are trying to find out if Namdhari's greed was one of the reasons behind the shootout at the Chhatarpur farmhouse on November 17 which resulted in the death of Ponty and Hardeep. According to sources Ponty had demanded his money back several times but Namdhari was reluctant to return the amount....more
