
Bulawayo: Zimbabwe held on to beat Bangladesh by six runs in the first of two Twenty20 internationals at Queens Sports Club on Saturday. Tinashe Panyangara took two wickets in the last over as Bangladesh fell short after needing 10 off the final six balls for victory.
Shamsur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan made half-centuries in a 118-run partnership for Bangladesh that appeared to have done enough to overtake Zimbabwe's 168-5. But the tourists lost quick wickets at the back end of their innings to finish short on 162-8.
Opener Hamilton Masakadza made 59 for Zimbabwe after the hosts chose to bat first. Captain Brendan Taylor hit 40 from 30 balls.
Al Hasan hit eight fours and two sixes in his 53 from 48 deliveries, but Panyangara's (3-32) death bowling was decisive....
