Mumbai: Both Houses of the Maharashtra Assembly were adjourned on Tuesday as the opposition created a ruckus over Ajit Pawar's urine remark. The Lower House was adjourned after censure motion against Ajit Pawar was not accepted.
The Upper House was adjourned after the opposition demanded resignation of Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, post lunch session. Ajit Pawar, while referring to a farmer on a hunger fast demanding water be released in dams, said the only way of releasing water in dams would be to urinate in them. The remarks drew sharp reactions from several parties.
Meanwhile, a urinal in Jalna has been named after Ajit Pawar in retribution for his urine remark. A poster with his photograph was pasted there following which some activists named it after the politician.
