
Mumbai: There is an Intelligence alert over a possible terror attack on the US Consulate in Mumbai and Kolkata, according to sources. Sources say that the Mumbai Police has been alerted by the Western Naval Command Headquarters about a possible terror attack on the US Consulate in Mumbai in July.
CNN-IBN has also learned that the US Consulate officials are the target after an anonymous letter with Al-Jihad logo was sent to them. The letter warns of an attack on not just the consulate in Mumbai, but also on the US Consulate in Kolkata.
The letter with the Mumbai Police has been sent to the US Consulate and a response is awaited. The police are in the process of checking the veracity of the letter.
