Vidya Balan, who was called a fashion disaster after her film 'Heyy Baby' took to a makeover and embraced sarees for all her public appearances. For more than two years, the actress has showed her love for the six yards of fabric. For a span of three years, she has been spotted wearing almost every type of saree.

Vidya Balan's love for saree is not new. She has been adorning the nine yards for quite sometime and has indeed flaunted a wide range of sarees during he public appearances.

She was spotted wearing a purple saree with a black blouse at the recently held Star Guild Awards. Shunning her usual cotton sarees, she took to a chiffon saree.

Indian films that were better than the books they were adapted from

Kai Po Che, based on a novel by author Chetan Bhagat, has opened to great reviews. It's not often that a film turns out better than the book it is adapted from. When a screenplay is better than the novel, you have a winner on hand. A still from the film 3 Idiots, again loosely based on Bhagat's '5 Point Someone'. The film went on to become one of the biggest box office successes of all time.

Black Friday, Anurag Kashyap's 2004 adaptation of author S Hussain Zaidi's 'Black Friday - The True Story of the Bombay Bomb Blasts', was probably his career's best work till date. It won the Grand Jury Prize at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and was a nominee for the Best Film (Golden Leopard) award at the Locarno International Film Festival.

Samuel Hopkins Adams' 'Night Bus' was remade as 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin' an endearing film chronicling the travel of a reporter who meets an heiress who's fled home on a bus. The book was adapted into 'It Happened One Night' in Hollywood and remains a popular film even today.

His books are bestsellers and all of them have been made into feature films. As Chetan Bhagat's 'The 3 Mistakes Of My Life' gets a screen adaptation in Abhishek Kapoor's 'Kai Po Che!', we look back the other films that have been based on Bhagat's books.

Directed by former actor Atul Agnihotri, 'Hello' was based on Chetan Bhagat's second book 'One Night @ the Call Centre'.

Based on the lives of call centre employees, the film had an ensemble cast consisting of Gul Panag, Sharman Joshi, Sohail Khan, Amrita Arora, Sharad Saxena and Esha Kopikar.
