
Thiruvananthapuram: Mahila Morcha, the women's wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleges that actress Shwetha Menon and director Blessy are 'exploiting motherhood for commercial purposes' by incorporating the actress's delivery in 'Kalimannu'.
On Sep 27, Shwetha delivered a baby girl at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai and Blessy captured her delivery and has incorporated it in his forthcoming release 'Kalimannu'. At the time of the delivery Swetha's husband Sreevalsan Menon was also present.
"We have already asked the state government to see that permission is not granted (to show the scene) because a bad precedent is being set in the name of the art," Mahila Morcha chairperson Shoba Surendran told reporters in Thrissur.
"This is certainly a shame because this is a ploy on the part of the actress and director Blessy to exploit motherhood for commercial purpose and to get audience queue up to see their film," added Surendran....
