New Delhi: Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has ordered a probe after CNN-IBN reported that officials close to former Medical Council of India chairman Ketan Desai were being allowed a back door entry into the Council.
"A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Director General of ICMR. The committee will submit its report within two months," Azad said.
The Board of Directors, which was given the task of cleaning up the mess, had a pool of over 6 lakh doctors to choose from. But they selected officials who have close links with Desai.
The former MCI chief had been arrested in 2010 for corrupt practices and misuse of office, leading to the Council's dissolution....
