New Delhi: Sreesanth's lawyer Deepak Prakash confirmed to CNN-IBN on Friday that he will move a bail application on the behalf of his client on Saturday, while insisting that Sreesanth is innocent and is being framed in the latest IPL spot-fixing scandal that has rocked Indian cricket.
"First concern is to get bail. We are moving an application tomorrow. There is conspiracy against Sreesanth. He is innocent. There is nothing in the documents produced by Delhi Police. These are baseless allegations," Prakash said.
"I have spoken to Sreesanth. He is saying he has no knowledge about this. There is no evidence that Sreesanth received money. He has been framed. This should be investigated," he added.
Rajasthan Royals' player Sreesanth was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police on Thursday along with two other team-mates - Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila - and several bookies. The cricketers and bookies have been charged under sections 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and are currently being questioned by the police in Delhi. ...
