Sachin unlikely to play in final against Chennai

Kolkata: Mumbai Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar who has been nursing a wrist and hand injury is unlikely to play the Indian Premier League final against Chennai Super Kings at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.

"Sachin is doubtful for tomorrow's (Sunday) game. Although we will take a call on his availability tomorrow but in all probability, he is unlikely to play the game," Mumbai coach John Wright told media persons here on match eve.

Tendulkar hurt his left hand and wrist while batting during Mumbai's home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 13 and had to retire hurt. He then missed the team's last two league games as well as the first and second qualifiers against Chennai Super Kings in Delhi and Rajasthan Royals in Kolkata respectively.

Talking about Sunday's big game, Wright expressed happiness that his team performed well and are deservedly the finalists....more
