Junagarh: Stampede at Mahashivratri fair, 6 dead New Delhi: Six people including two children died in a stampede in the Junagadh district in Gujarat on Sunday night and 20 others were injured.

The incident occurred during the Bhavnath Temple fair, which is held annually on the eve of Mahashivratri. Reports say two vehicles had blocked the entrance to the fair where tens of thousands of people had assembled.

As the crowd grew, some people began to push, and many fell down. Some were in a serious condition and had to be taken to nearby hospitals.

The movement of ambulances was affected at first because the road to the temple was jammed. ...more
