Mercedes-Benz GLA Class concept unveiled

Mercedes has unveiled its mini-SUV, the GLA Class concept just days before its Shanghai Auto Show 2013 debut.

It is true to some extent considering that the A-Class and GLA Class are built on the same MFA platform.

The GLA Class measures a good 4.38 metres long and has a wheelbase of 2690mm.

The new Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive

A new-generation electric car is celebrating its world premiere at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. The Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive makes a debut.

While the car is on the move, the electric drive itself contributes to a favourable energy balance through recuperation, by converting kinetic energy into electric current in deceleration mode and during braking and feeding this energy into the battery.

The maximum speed is electronically limited to 100 mph (160 km/h) in the interests of operating range. Depending on the respective driving cycle, the range is around 115 miles (200 km).

Launched: The Rs 1.45 crore Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the new G63 AMG in India at Rs 1.45 crore ex-Mumbai.

It replaces the G55 AMG which was launched two years ago.

The G63 AMG uses a 5.5-litre V8 bi-turbo engine which now makes 544PS of power and 760Nm of torque.

Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series unveiled

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the most extreme version of the SLS - the SLS AMG Black Series. The company will showcase the car at the upcoming LA Auto Show 2012.

AMG has tuned the already fabulous 6.2-litre V8 engine to now produce 622PS, up from the previous 583PS with a drop in torque by 14Nm.

The lesser torque has not affected the 0-100 times though with Mercedes claiming an improved 3.6 seconds and a top whack of 315kmph.

Road test: 2012 Mercedes ML 350CDI

When we got our hands on the ML 350 CDI we decided to take it to meet something equally premium – the Alphonso mango. And we wanted to get the best ones. So we headed to Ratnagiri to get the king of the king of the mangoes.

The 3.0-litre turbo V6 diesel engine produces a maximum power of 258PS at 3600rpm and 620Nm from 1600rpm all the way to 2400rpm. There are also paddles provided behind the steering wheel which can be used to manually change gears.

In terms of creature comforts you get Thermotronic, automatic climate control which enables setting of different temperatures for individual passengers.

Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake unveiled

The wait for the new Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake is over. The company has unveiled its five door coupe.

Essentially a low-slung station wagon, the Shooting Brake is based on the CLS coupe and gets a wooden load compartment floor and loading rails made with aluminium.

Mercedes have kitted the CLS Shooting Brake with five interior colours and trim designs along with three qualities of leather.
