
Mexico City: A moderate earthquake shook buildings in Mexico's capital and its southwestern coast, but there were no immediate reports of damage. The US Geological Survey said the quake had a magnitude of 5.2 and its epicentre was 27 miles (44 kilometres) north-northeast of Zihuatanejo in Guerrero state.
It was 177 miles (286 kms) southwest of Mexico City. Buildings swayed in Mexico City at 10:45 pm local time, but offices were largely empty for the night.
Authorities in Mexico City reported no damages or deaths.
