New Delhi: As the Indian Premier League spot-fixing net widens, more shocking details are emerging. Delhi Police chief Neeraj Kumar has confirmed that more teams apart from Rajasthan Royals are being probed. Speaking to CNN-IBN's sister channel IBN7, Neeraj Kumar said the police are working on leads in connection with the involvement of other teams.
When asked which teams are under the radar, Neeraj Kumar said, "We don't want to reveal the names as it will affect our investigation. But we have some leads and we are working on that. We may or may not be successful."
When asked whether the police could have arrested more cricketers, the Delhi Police chief said, "We were informed about only three players. So we gathered evidence against them. We decided to arrest them after they delivered their promises to the bookies. We had video footage of the three players."
Meanwhile in Mumbai, sources say arrested Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh claimed he was placing bets on behalf of Bollywood celebrities and also Chennai Super Kings owner Gurunath Meiyappan who is also BCCI President N Srinivasan's son-in-law. Though police maintained there is no evidence of it as of now, the obvious question that now gets asked is whether it was possible for Gurunath, a top functionary of the CSK, to use insider information and access to players for privileged and useful information under the circumstances.
