Chandigarh: The Haryana government on Sunday said all bus stands in the state will be fitted with CCTV cameras to prevent any mischief in the premises. " A sum of Rs 4 crore will be spent on the installation of CCTV cameras in all the bus stands to prevent any mischief," Haryana Director General of State Transport Arun Kumar said in a statement in Chandigarh.
He said that such cameras will also be installed in city buses running in Gurgaon and Faridabad. Besides this, Global Positioning System (GPS) would also be installed in city buses but this would take another six months time in completing the procedure as tenders would be invited in June 2013, he said. Kumar informed that the Transport department will increase the number of buses in Gurgaon to 150 in next four months which will include 50 AC and 100 ordinary buses.
