
New Delhi: Youth Congress workers on Wednesday protested outside the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in the national capital over the BJP's demand for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation. The protesters stormed barricades, following which the police fired water cannons.
The protesters said that the BJP must stop asking for the Prime Minister's resignation and let Parliament function. This came even as Parliament was adjourned sine die last week.
However, there have been indications that the government may go for a Special Session to pass crucial bills like the Land Acquisition and the Food Security Bill.
The government may be hopeful of getting the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) help in passing the bills after the resignation of Pawan Kumar Bansal as the Railway Minister and Ashwani Kumar as the Law Minister. The Budget Session was a complete wash-out as the BJP was stiff on demanding the resignation of Bansal and Ashwani over the Railwayu bribery controversy and the coal scam....
