Railway bribery: CBI examines Bansal's role in other appointments New Delhi: Sources in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday said that former Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal was being examined about his role in various postings and appointments apart from that of suspended Railway Board official Mahesh Kumar. The sources said the questioning was going on at an undisclosed location and that Bansal was being questioned as a witness.

The sources, however, added that this may change if Bansal's role was found to be suspicious.

The questioning had begun on Tuesday at 11.00 am.

Sources added that this will not be the only round of questioning for Bansal and the CBI may call him again. The sources also said that Bansal must have been aware of favours given by his nephew Vijay Singla to various Railway officials....more
