San Sebastian, Spain: Real Sociedad have hired Jagoba Arrasate as their new coach after he spent last season as an assistant to outgoing manager Philippe Montanier.
Sociedad earned a spot in a Champions League playoff to enter into Europe's top-tier club competition after finishing fourth in the Spanish league last season.
The 35-year-old Arrasate played for Sociedad as a youth and returned to coach their youth teams in 2010 before joining Montainer's staff.
