Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday said his party's alliance with BJP would last as long as the latter did not forsake 'Hindutva'. Talking about his meeting with BJP president Rajnath Singh in Mumbai on Tuesday, Uddhav said, "Rajnath Singh said the alliance with Shiv Sena will remain intact. I said it will, as long as BJP does not leave the Hindutva issue."
Criticising Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar for severing ties with BJP and NDA, he said, "What secularism is Nitish Kumar talking about? Where were these secularists when Kashmiri Pandits were driven out of Kashmir? Where were these secularists when the Hindus were facing crises?"
The Sena President was addressing the cadres here on the occasion of the 47th foundation day of the party. Talking about Mahalaxmi Race Course land issue, he said it belonged to citizens of Mumbai first, and a garden, if developed there (as the lease of the Race Course has ended), would benefit the city.
Uddhav also asked his partymen to keep watch on the criminals who target women. "Every village should have Shiv Sena board, and perverts and rapists should know after seeing it that they won't get away with the crime here," he said....
