The Nokia Asha 501 launched

At an event in New Delhi, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop unveiled the latest phone in the company's Asha series - the Asha 501.

The Asha 501 has a 3-inch QVGA TFT capacitive display and includes 128 MB of inbuilt flash memory and includes a 4GB memory card and the memory is expandable up to 32GB.

The Asha 501 has been launched at a price of $99 and should be available in India at about Rs 5,500 from June.

Day four at Galle belonged to Bangladesh and records as the visitors racked up their first 600 plus score with Mushfiqur Rahim becoming the first Bangladesh player to score a double hundred in Tests.

Mohammed Ashraful and Rahim could only add six runs to their overnight partnership of 261, before the former fell ten runs short of double hundred with Rangana Herath taking the wicket.

Rahim then compiled a 106-run stand with Nasir Hossain as he got to his maiden double hundred – Bangladesh’s first in Test cricket since their inception in 2001. Rahim got to his 200 in 320 balls aided by 22 fours and a six. He got out a ball later off Kulasekara.

Optimus L SeriesII: LG shows off new smartphones

Introducing the new Optimus L SeriesII, LG has unveiled three new smartphones - Optimus L3II, Optimus L5II, and Optimus L7II.

LG has not revealed the full specifications of the Optimus L3II, Optimus L5II, however the company has divulged specifications of the Optimus L7II, which has a 4.3-inch WVGA IPS display.

The Optimus L7II is powered by a 1GHz Dual-Core (Qualcomm MSM8225) processor and has 768MB RAM.

The 2014 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo

The BMW 5 Series GT's baby brother, the 3 Series GT 2014 has been unveiled.

Showcased just before its Chicago Auto Show 2013 debut, the new 3 Series is 200mm longer than the sedan version while standing taller by 81mm and having a 110mm longer wheelbase.

All this translates to a higher seating position (59mm) for the front and rear passengers as also additional leg room (70mm) than the sedan.

Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series unveiled

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the most extreme version of the SLS - the SLS AMG Black Series. The company will showcase the car at the upcoming LA Auto Show 2012.

AMG has tuned the already fabulous 6.2-litre V8 engine to now produce 622PS, up from the previous 583PS with a drop in torque by 14Nm.

The lesser torque has not affected the 0-100 times though with Mercedes claiming an improved 3.6 seconds and a top whack of 315kmph.

The Rolls Royce Phantom Series II launched in India at Rs 4.64 crore onwards

Rolls-Royce launched its Phantom Series II - the latest version of the super luxury car that came out in 2003 - in the domestic market, priced at Rs 4.64 crore onwards.

The new model Phantom II with a new look front end featuring all LED headlamps is an evolution of the 2003 model.

The Phantom II will retail for Rs 4.5 crore while the extended wheelbase version has a price tag of Rs 5.10 crore, both prices are ex-showroom Mumbai.

Budget phones: Nokia's new Asha 311, Asha 305

Expanding its Asha series, Nokia has launched two new budget phones - Asha 311 and Asha 305 - in India.

Priced at Rs 7,139, the Nokia Asha 311 has a 3-inch scratch resistant capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 400x240 pixels.

Weighing 95g, the Asha 311 has an internal memory of 256MB (approximately 100MB free user memory), which is expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card.

MWC 2012: The seven next LG smartphones

Do you know what all phones LG is going to showcase at the Mobile World Congress(MWC) 2012? Here is a list of phones that the company has announced to display at the event in Barcelona.

This seems to be the real Samsung Galaxy Note competitor. It is LG's first Quad-Core processor smartphone. Powered by 1.5GHz Quad-Core processor (NVIDIA Tegra 3), the phone features a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display with a pixel resolution of 1280 x 720.

The Optimus 4X HD includes 16 GB internal memory and runs the latest version of Android OS - Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It sports a 8 megapixel BSI (Backside Illumination) Sensor camera with LED flash and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. Measuring 8.9mm slim, it has a 2,150mAh battery.
