Srinagar: Suspected Lashkar terrorist killed in an encounter Srinagar: One suspected terrorist has been killed in an encounter with security forces in Old Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Reports indicate he was Hilal Maulwi, a Lashkar-e-Toiba commander.

The police say search operations are still on. This is the first such encounter in Old Srinagar in four years.

The police said that as soon as they got the information of the terrorist's presence, they cordoned off the area and a brief encounter took place. A brief fire exchange happened for around 15 minutes during which a police inspector and two other policemen were injured. Subsequently, the forces also responded in which the suspected terrorist named Hilal Maulwi of the Lashkar was killed.
