Kolkata: Retired employee Kailash Harijan succumbed to ailments generating from malnutrition and abject poverty at the closed Sahagunj unit of Dunlop tyre factory in Hooghly district or West Bengal.
The 75-year-old used to stay with his wife and two sons at the staff quarters of Dunlop.
The victim's family alleges that he did not receive his post-retirement dues from the company and the family used to survive on mid-day meal food from a neighbourhood school and fortnightly ration of rice and pulses supplied by the local MLA.
Last year, Dunlop authorities issued suspension of work notice at the unit, leading to loss of job of over 500 workers and their families....
