It was a landslide victory for the Telangana Rashtra Samiti as it swept 11 out of 12 Assembly constituencies that went to bypolls in the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh on July 27. The Telugu Desam Party and the Congress failed to put up an impressive performance. The TRS has been actively clamouring for a separate state of Telangana.
