New Delhi: A man allegedly having links with bookies active during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 was arrested on Wednesday in Varanasi along with his three aides.
Police said Mahendra Singh, who was absconding after a case was lodged at Chowk police station on May 25, carried a reward of Rs 5,000.
"We had arrested eleven members out of which the gang leader Mahendra Singh was missing. We had kept a reward of Rs 5,000 for anyone who finds him. We are sure that he has played a role in IPL betting. He has played a main role in the IPL betting scene in Varanasi," Police said.
Police further said that Mahendra worked for bookie Ramesh Vyas, who was arrested by Mumbai Police, in the IPL 2013 betting case....
