7/11 Mumbai blasts: Call records of 4 accused show they weren't at the spot Mumbai: There may be embarrassment for the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad in the 7/11 train serial blasts trial. The phone records of four alleged bombers have shown that they were not at the blast site when the bombs were planted.

The ATS had arrested five alleged bomb planters in connection with the case and had claimed that they along with seven wanted Pakistani men had planted bombs at the Churchgate station on July 11, 2006. These bombs had exploded when the trains were at various stations on the western suburban rail route of Mumbai.

The defence has produced the Call Data Records of four of the five accused. These 4 according to the data were not present at Churchgate between 3:45 PM and 5:20 PM (the time during which ATS had claimed the bombs were planted). According to the defence, Faisal Shaikh was at Bandra, Asif Khan was at Kandivili, Ehtesham was at Mumbra and Kamaal Ansari was in Bihar.

The CDR details of the fifth arrested accused haven't been produced in the court so far. ...more
