Starting the day at 153 for 4, New Zealand lost captain Brendon McCullum in the first over of the day with Stuart Broad taking the wicket.

New Zealand went downhill from there on with Steve Finn taking three wickets in the day and James Anderson completed another five-wicket haul as New Zealand were bundled out for 207, trailing England by 25 runs

Kane Williamson top scored for the Kiwis scoring 60 runs and occupying the crease for 167 balls.

Peter Fulton scored his second century of the Test hitting 110 runs off 165 balls leading New Zealand to a total of 241 for 6 dec. in the second innings.

Peter Fulton and Brendon McCullum compiled a speedy 117 runs in 16.5 overs with a run-rate of 6.95 for the fifth wicket to take the initiative away from England.

Brendon McCullum provided the finishing touches with a quickfire 67 off 53 balls as New Zealand set England a record target of 481 runs.

England started day 3 on 50 for 2, but Tim Southee got the wicket of overnight batsman Nick Compton for 13 in the third over of the day.

Southee soon removed Ian Bell for 17 to leave England reeling.

Trent Boult had another great day, finishing with figures of 6 for 68 as England were bowled out for 204 conceding a 239-run first-innings lead.
