Uphaar case: SC notice to CBI on Ansals' plea seeking release of hall New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the CBI to explain why it continued to seize the Uphaar cinema premises in New Delhi.

The SC directive came after Ansal Theatres filed an application seeking release of the hall for renovation and reuse.

The Uphaar cinema fire tragedy in June 1997 had claimed dozens of lives.
