
Mumbai: The lifeline of Mumbai took a hit on Friday evening as the motormen on the suburban network's Western Line are on strike. As many as 200 assistant motormen went on mass leave putting several demands before the government.
Following the move by the motormen, the services on the Western Line that caters to close to 36 lakh people everyday have pretty much halted.
There are also huge traffic jams on roads, with buses packed to the rafters.
According to the motormen, those who went on strike in 2010 for a day are being harassed by the railway management. They have said that there confidential reports were adverse and are demanding that it be corrected....
