Surya to R Madhavan: South stars support 'Vishwaroopam'

The current series of events regarding the release of Kamal Haasan's 'Vishwaroopam', saw the Tamil film fraternity reacting strongly over it's ban by the Tamil Nadu Government
The film ran into trouble just one day ahead of its slated release when some Muslim groups protested claiming that the film offensive scenes have hurt their sentiments.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa stuck to the decision of keeping the film off the screens in the state until the Muslim groups and actor Kamal Haasan reached an amicable agreement.
The meeting was held at State Home Secretary R Rajagopal's office and after a five hour long discussion, Haasan finally managed to get a green signal for his film, though with a few cuts and edits.
The South film fraternity has reacted sharply against banning of the film.
South stars Sarathkumar and Radhika also supported Kamal. They said that "the actor is one of the best actors the country has produced and he can never hurt the sentiments of anybody."
Prasana and Sneha also supported the film. They stood strong for the Veteran actor.
The young actor-director Simbu also spoke sharply against the ban imposed on the film.
The versatile actor Surya Sivakumar supported the film and called the art of film making as a freedom of expression.
Veteran director Mani Ratnam also supported 'Vishwaroopam'.
South stars like Arvind Swamy, Gowthami, alongwith other popular actors came out in support of Kamal Haasan's film 'Vishwaroopam'
Actress Khushboo also supported Kamal Haasan's movie.
