Guru Dutt, Jiah Khan, Divya Bharti: Untimely deaths in Bollywood

Jiah Khan's suicide has once again highlighted how vulnerable individuals are in the glamour industry.
All of 25, Jiah was hanging at her Juhu flat on 3 June, 2013. The actress had made heads turn with her Lolita act in Ram Gopal Verma's 'Nishabd'.
Divya Bharti's promising career came to an abrupt end when the actress fell off her balcony and died in 1993. The actress who had made a mark in the film industry with her effervescent charm and appeared in 10 films.
A popular face on TV and commercials, Kuljeet Randhawa hanged herself in her apartment in Mumbai in 2006. In a suicide note, Kuljeet stated that she was ending her life as she was unable to cope with life's pressures.
South actor Kunal Singh, best known for his role in 'Dil Hi Dil Mein' opposite Sonali Bendre was found hanging at his residence in Mumbai in 2008. The actor had earlier attempted suicide by slashing his wrist.
She took the south film industry by storm, but Silk Smitha died a lonely death. It was suspected that she committed suicide after facing major financial problems and her films failing.
At the age of 39, Guru Dutt was at his best phase in his career. The maverick director/actor was found dead in 1964. According to reports he had an overdose of sleeping pills mixed with alcohol.
Former Miss India, Nafisa Joseph hanged herself in 2004 in her flat in Mumbai. According to reports, Joseph was depressed after breaking up with fiance Gautam Khanduja.
Model Viveka Babajee's case was also similar as the model hanged herself in 2011. In her suicide note she blamed her boyfriend Gautam Vohra for her death.
Some of the well known celebrities also died young dur to ailments. Singer Geet Dutt, Guru Dutt's wife, died of liver cirrhosis in 1972. Some say she suffered a nervous breakdown after her husband's death while others state her addiction to alcohol eventually led to her death.
At the of 39 and few weeks after the release of 'Pakeezah' actress Meena Kumari died of liver cirrhosis. The actress was known to be addicted to alcohol and was having troubles in her marriage to director Kamal Amrohi.
A powerhouse of talent, Smita Patil died from childbirth complications in 1986. She was 31. Nearly two decades later, one of India's greatest film directors, Mrinal Sen alleged that Smita Patil had died due to gross medical negligence.
The gorgeous Madhubala was just 36 when she passed away due to ventricular septal defect, commonly known as a 'hole in the heart'.
