Sunil Gavaskar to Vijender Singh: Even sportspersons can't say no to films

As Olympic bronze-medalist Vijender Singh gears up for his Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar's 'Fugly', we give you insight into other popular sportspersons who too couldn't resist the urge of doing films.
This is the look which Indian spin bowler Harbhajan Singh will be sporting as he makes an acting debut in 'Bhajji In Problem', Ashwini Yardi and Akshay Kumar's Punjabi film.
Kapil Dev: This is the first name that comes to one's mind each time India's World Cup victory back in 1983 is discussed. The winning captain, after wowing fans with his abilities as a cricketer, also faced the camera. He had a cameo in several films such as 'Stumped', 'Iqbal' and 'Aryan- The Unbreakable'. He was also seen in 'Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii'. The film also starred Rahul Bose.
Ajay Jadeja: The cricketer, who made headlines, courtesy the match-fixing controversy, made his Bollywood debut in 'Khel'. The film also starred Sunil Shetty, Celina Jaitley and Sunny Deol.
Sunil Gavaskar: After he appeared Savli Premachi, a Marathi film, with which he made his acting debut, he was seen with Naseeruddin Shah in 'Malamaal'.
Mohsin Khan: Pakistani cricketer Mohsin Khan, much like his Indian counterparts, couldn't resist the urge of doing a film. 'Batwara' was the film he debuted with in Bollywod. He was also seen in 'Saathi', 'Fateh' and 'Madam X'. He was in news for his bond with Reena Roy.
Anil Kumble: After the popular Indian player retired from international cricket, Anil Kumble flaunted his acting skills in Meerabai Not Out. The cricket-based film features Anil Kumble with Charu Sharma, a popular commentator.
Sandeep Patil too dabbled in Bollywood. He was seen in 1985 film 'Kabhi Ajnabi' opposite Poonam Dhillon and Debashree Roy. And Syed Kirmani, who was the wicketkeeper of India then, played a negative role in the film.
Vinod Kambli: So what if he didn't have a career as impressive as that of Sachin Tendulkar? His innings in the showbiz industry was still striking. In addition to doing a film 'Annarth', which starred Sunil Shetty and Preeti Jhangiani, the cricketer was also seen in reality show 'Bigg Boss'.
S Sreesanth: Rajasthan Royals player S Sreesanth, who has been embroiled in IPL spot-fixing controversy, reportedly wanted to act in Hindi and Malyalam films. As reports suggest, he had contacted director of Malayalam films also.
