The year started with one of the biggest duds, Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone starrer
Chandni Chowk to China. Hollywood studio Warner bros marked their Bollywood debut with this film and director Nikhil Advani spent Rs 80 crore to make this film. After the first show reactions, it was clear that
Chandni Chowk to China won't last for more than a week at the theatres. It went on to be a big flop and managed to recover only Rs 20 crore,and brought Akshay Kumar's market rate down by half.
