Clear your schedules, ladies and gentlemen. This week the lady with the boxing gloves is set to kick things into action.
The film, which saw Priyanka Chopra go through rigorous training to suit the part of the boxer, is set to hit the screens tomorrow.
"Glamorous Indian star Priyanka Chopra completely transforms herself to play MC Mary Kom, world champion in women's boxing," said a statement from the 39th Toronto International Film Festival will take place between September 4 and 14.
"From traditional village life in remote Manipur state to high-stakes bouts in India and around the world, this is a remarkable story of triumph. The film will have its world premiere at TIFF," the statement added.
The film traces the journey of the celebrated Indian sportswoman -- from training to falling in love, getting married, having two children, and pursuing her boxing dreams.
"Kabhi kisi ko itna bhi mat darao, ke darr hi khatam ho jaaye," says Priyanka in a powerful scene from the trailer.
"The film is set in Manipur, Mary's hometown, and highlights the mileu and culture from where a world champion arose. We will try our best to ensure the release of the film in the territory," Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, told IANS.
On the social media website Twitter, Priyanka had called 'Mary Kom' the hardest film of her life.
'Mary Kom' also stars Minakkshi Kalitaa, Shishir Sharma and Zachary Coffin in key roles.
The tagline for the film 'Mary Kom' reads: "Most champions make their name. She made history."
