The story revolves around 14 year old teenagers who believe that life is difficult for them. It's a coming-of-age story set in a small industrial town of Jamshedpur.
Using the metaphor of a bubblegum the story is spun on teenage romances, parent and child relationship and more.
All the teenage actors in the film, Sohail Lakhani and Apurva Arora are newbies in the industry and just learning the rope. Incidentally, 'Bubble Gum' also happens to the debut film of the director, Sanjivan Lal.
Playing parents, Sachin Khedekar and Tanvi Azmi are probably the only two known faces in the film and actor we know who'd perform to the best of their ability.
Actually, there was no buzz about the movie at all. Being a low budget film, the producers kept the publicity to the least. Good or bad publicity is always good. But there has been no talk or a whisper about the film, one wonders what would draw the audience to the theaters.
The film may attract teenagers and college students who are looking for a light-hearted film. 'Bubble Gum; releases this Friday along with other low budget films like 'Khap' and Gandhi to Hitler'.
