Family Matters: Amitabh Bachchan is the son of well-known Hindi poet Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan. After Zanjeer became a hit, Amitabh broke the news to his father and mother Teji Bachchan about marrying co-actress Jaya Bhaduri. The couple tied the knot on June 2, 1973. But the actor could not evade the unwanted media focus where his relationships with actress Rekha was concerned. People always believed that there was some real life romance between him and Rekha. Even when Silsila was released in 1982, people supposed that they were in love and film was based on their real life story. But that didn%u2019t lead the actor to succumb and mar his image of a family man. Wife Jaya Bachchan and he ignored rumours and stuck together through thick and thin. They have a daughter Shweta Nanda who is married and lives in Delhi and son actor Abhishek Bachchan who is married to actress Aishwarya Rai.
