The Stage is Set: The superstar%u2019s stint with television began in 2000 when Amitabh stepped up to host Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). The programme, an adaptation of the British television game-show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, became an instant rage with thousands across the country. According to reports, Amitabh charged Rs 25 lakh per weekly episode, which strengthened his family both financially and morally after the setbacks, that he had to cope after the monetary setback of his company ABCL. The star hosted KBC till November 2005. When asked why he quit Kaun Banega Crorepati, the Big B said he was actually getting bored of KBC by the time he had wrapped up KBC Dwitiya sometime in 2005.
