New Stills: Anurag Kashyap's 'item film' Gangs of Wasseypur

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap says his upcoming film 'Gangs of Wasseypur' is commercial and "an item" movie.
The film is set in Wasseypur, a small town near Dhanbad in Jharkhand, and tells a tale of revenge.
Gangs of Wasseypur is a commercial film with music and songs and without big stars.
The film is based on true stories of Wasseypur.
Kashyap said the film is funny, sad and there is full-on action.
It is a family drama, which is set across three generations and six decades.
Kashyap said it is a very rooted film based on many true stories.
There are lots of characters in the film that are still living there but the filmmakers have changed the names.
The star cast of the film includes Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Syed Zeeshan Quadri, Aditya Kumar and Reemma Sen.
The film will be released in two parts.
It is divided into two parts but both the parts have their individual story.
It is actually a five-hour 20 minutes movie.
The film begins with the coal mafia but gradually moves away from it.
Kashyap had said it's not the Indian version of 'The Godfather'. The story is completely fictionalised keeping the identities of the people and logistical elements in the mind.
The film will be released on June 22, 2012.
Nawazuddin, a relatively lesser known face in Bollywood, is playing one of the pivotal roles in 'Gangs of Wasseypur'.
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is on cloud nine after three of his films have been chosen to be a part of 65th Cannes International Film Festival.
After 'Peddlers', both parts of Kashyap's 'Gangs of Wasseypur', has been chosen for screening at the fest's Directors' Fortnight section.
The film, produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, has actors like Jaideep Ahlawat, Manoj Bajpayee and Reema Sen.
Director's Fortnight is a non-competitive section at the festival, where gangster drama 'Gangs of Wasseypur' will have its world premiere.
