First Look 'English Vinglish': Sridevi is back!

The film, produced by R. Balki of 'Paa' and 'Cheeni Kum' is about a simple, traditional homemaker played by Sridevi whose life revolves around her husband and children.
Sridevi's character in the film is often mocked by her husband and children for her spoken English. But she reaches the peak of humiliation when her husband makes a nasty remark, "My wife was born to make laddoos".
This is when her niece pushes her to take an English speaking course.
Hesitant at first, she makes the call to the tuition centre in New York City.
The visa officer asks her how she would manage in the US without knowing English, just then an Indian co-worker stands up for her saying, "Just how you survive in India without knowing Hindi".
The exciting bit is that Amitabh Bachchan is going to do a cameo in 'English Vinglish'. Is that him in the background?
Sridevi's character is awestruck when she arrives at New York.
Wrapped in a saree, she soaks in the vibrancy of the city.
On the first day at her English speaking tuition class, Sridevi leaves her teacher flummoxed with a tricky question.
What follows is a series of comic scenarios in the classroom where each student has a twisted take of the English language.
In time, the character discovers this newfound sense of freedom. She explores the city's local transport.
She goes gallivanting with her new friends on the snazzy streets of New York City.
Struck by the city's style and quirkiness, she is simply amazed!
Along with her 'classmates', all of whom belong to different cultural backgrounds.
Sridevi's character discovers a new spark, and zest for life.
In no time, she is one of the New Yorkers.
'English Vinglish' also features French actor Mehdi Nebbou, Adil Hussain, and Priya Anand. The film will be released in Hindi and Tamil, and also dubbed in Telugu.
