'Junglee' to Yash Raj's next: Bollywood returns to Kashmir

Earlier, Kashmir used to be a popular destination among filmmakers. However, in past two decades very few Bollywood films have been shot in the valley.
Junglee (1961): Picturesque locations of Kashmir made Shammi Kapoor and Saira Banu's film a treat for the eyes.
Kashmir Ki Kali (1964): From Dal Lake to the snow-capped mountains, the film shows Kashmir at its best. Late actor Shammi Kapoor shot for many films in Kashmir.
Andaz (1971): Shammi Kapoor and Hema Malini in a still from the movie 'Andaz'. Shammi Kapoor's family immersed his ashes in Dal lake after his death.
Mere Sanam (1965): Biswajeet and Asha Parekh's popular film 'Mere Sanam' was also shot in the valley.
Do Badan (1966): A major part of Manoj Kumar, Asha Parekh and Simi Garewal's hit film 'Do Badan' was also shot in Kashmir.
Bobby (1973): The beauty of Kashmir made Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia's love story even more appealing. Sometime back, Rishi Kapoor revisited all the shooting locations.
Kabhie Kabhie (1976): Yash Chopra shot a major part of the film in Kashmir and described the experience as his 'honeymoon'. Amitabh Bachchan and Raakhee Gulzar in a still from the film.
Henna (1991): Rishi Kapoor, Zeba Bakhtiar and Ashwini Bhave played the lead roles in the film. It revolves around the life of three people torn between India and Pakistan. The film was shot in the valley.
Mission Kashmir (2000): The film tried to showcase the turmoil in the valley. Preity Zinta and Hrithik Roshan in a still from the movie.
Rockstar (2011): Rishi Kapoor has shot for many films in Kashmir. He was very excited when his son Ranbir Kapoor followed his footsteps. May be Kashmir is lucky for the family.
Now, Shah Rukh Khan is shooting in Kashmir Valley for the first time in his over two-decade-old film career. He is working on Yash Chopra's next, yet untitled, movie.
